Sarah Olick was born and raised in New York City (and is not interested in returning to the city where she was raised). After graduating from high school, she began her undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado Boulder. There, she completed a BS in Strategic Communications with a focus in Media Design, as well as two minors in Media Production and Creative Technology Design. She also completed two graphic design internships while at CU Boulder. During her senior year of undergrad, she realized how advertising-focused her program at CU Boulder was and decided that she wanted to pursue a career in graphic design much more so than a career in advertising. For this reason, she decided to start her MFA in Graphic Design at Boston University. During her time at BU, she has focused on areas of graphic design such as editorial design and typeface design and is beginning thesis inquiry into the need (or lack thereof) for deeper meaning in design. When she is not in school she is exploring creative endeavors such as surface pattern design and spending time with her chihuahua, Penny. She currently splits her time between Boston and Atlanta and is open to exploring new places as she begins her graphic design career.
