For this project, I was tasked with creating a logo and website for Gabby Chishinsky's career group and community-building space for women professionals, Our Career Vibe. The logo is based on a lotus flower and the website was built on Squarespace.
About the Logo
"The lotus flower represents rebirth, renewal, and resilience. The flower grows in muddy, murky, and shallow waters. Despite difficult conditions, we can grow like the lotus flower in both our professional and personal lives.
Like the lotus, we too can grow to overcome adversity, reinvent ourselves in our careers and personal lives, and build community. The flower also symbolizes connection and as human beings, we are social creatures at our core. Up to 80% of our health is socially determined.
There is a missing puzzle piece from conversations surrounding our professional and personal development- the importance of community building. People who maintain meaningful social connections experience less stress, better sleep, and longer, healthier lives. Our social lives can be the secret to living longer. The relationship between social connection and longevity is inherently linked.
Our Career Vibe’s mission is to build community among women professionals, so we have a shared sense of belonging in both our professional and personal lives."

Logo Process
Below are the first four iterations of the logo with symbols highlighted. Option 1 combines the lotus motif with abstracted human figures to represent community. Option 2 uses the lotus motif with leaves styled as hands to represent the care found in a community. Option 3 uses a single line lotus motif showing ever-changing, continuous nature of careers. Option 4 houses an OCV monogram motif within the lotus motif.
Color Scheme & Type System
The following images show the color scheme and background gradient I built off of the provided red and yellow, as well as the final type system shown with potential stylized logo options.
